Cub Crafters Horizontal Stab Inspection

             The Sport Cub owned by Iowa Lakes Community College, N989CC, is built by Cub Crafters of Yakima, Washington.  In October 2011, Cub Crafters issued Service Bulletin SB00018, Rev A which requires a repetitive inspection of the trailing edge of the horizontal stabilizers for broken gussets inside the stab.  Below is a copy of that service bulletin.

            Below is a video of the inspection and the noticeable difference in sound when a loose gusset is found.  This inspection is required at each annual, but it probably should be performed before each flight.
